DID YOU KNOW THAT......
In the restaurant there is a Roman Cistern dating back to the 1st century BCE. The Roman cistern was originally 24 metres long until a part was demolished during the construction of Palazzo Viti.
A vertical well, supposedly used to collect rain water, was also discovered rather recently. We know that the cistern contained enough rain water to supply water for public use and in particular to supply water to the area where the Roman theatre is located.
